New fine art gallery opens in Leura Mall

Katoomba Fine Art is proud to announce the opening of the Lost Bear Gallery, located in the historic Leura Post Office building, 5/148 Leura Mall.

Scientists believe recent sightings of a lost polar bear as far south as Leura to be either proof of habitat loss due to global warming, or evidence of global cooling? Regardless, it appears these confused bears now feel comfortable enough to visit the Blue Mountains.

On closer inspection, the truth of man-made interference in the natural world becomes apparent. The ice bear is in fact a steel and recycled plastic sculpture by acclaimed local artist Ian Swift. It stands proudly as the star attraction at Leura’s appropriately named fine art gallery... ‘Lost Bear Gallery’. Here you will find a superb collection of paintings, sculpture and other collectable objects of art by a select group of Australian artists.
